Apartment Approval (Atlanta GA)?

My boyfriend has A-1 perfect credit and clean rental history, but just started his job and is only making about 25 hours per check. His hourly rate is great but needs the 40 hour mark to meet the apartment's income guidelines. I make 30K a year on my job and have been there a lot longer than my boyfriend's been on his job. However, my credit and rental credit history has 2 adverse apartment debts. They still said that I should do a joint application for the main purpose of showing that there's enough income to get approved for this apartment. They informed me that it could mean a possible higher deposit. Yet they said they still CANNOT and WILL NOT guarantee anything, as I just need to fill out the app and see what happens. So I did do that and explained my rental history and got the app in on today. Do you think we'll still be approved? What are they actually seeking? Are they really going to dig into my credit since he's the main applicant? Or are they just looking for strong income? Please advise....
